Dear Mr. Rees,

I was a spectator at the performance that you put on at the West Homes High School Afterprom held at the Holmes Health and Fitness Center in Berlin, Ohio May 4. Needless to say I was awe-struck by the tricks you pulled off and possibly more amazed at the fact that someone with your ability was at our Afterprom. For about two weeks after the prom, you were the talk of our high school and of the parents that helped out with Afterprom.

You probably don't remember me, but my name is Chuck and I kept harassing you to do the dollar bill trick one more time. You also flipped corks over my head as my Dad stood behind me and caught them. To get to the point, I was recently elected as President of the West Holmes Student Council, and I promised myself and classmates that I'd do everything in my power to get you to come do a performance for the Student Body.

I'm not really sure what you'd charger for a school performance, but you gave me your business card and I know I'm supposed to cal for rates and dates. However, school doesn't begin until September and as President I must clear all assemblies and dates with the Principal. I guess what concerns me is that by the time I get the assembly OK'd you would be all booked up. So could you please keep us in mind or be willing to negotiate a performance date if I call you sometime in October, or November? Our school would love to see you again, as you not only worked "magic", but also entertained us with corny humor (The Big Money Prank, etc.).

If you could, it would be great if you could write back to me with some sort of response. If you're too busy though, I just ask that you keep us in mind for this upcoming year. I'll try to get in touch with your office about a booking as soon as I have the go-ahead from the Principal, and will immediately work your rate into our upcoming year's budget.
